Novenas for The Dead
Catholics pray for the departed by entrusting them to God’s mercy. The Divine Mercy novena includes prayer for souls in purgatory. You do not need to claim knowledge of any individual’s final state; pray with hope, and consider having a Mass offered for the person.

Divine Mercy Novena
Mercy is not pretending sin does not matter. It is turning toward Christ for forgiveness and learning to extend compassion to others. These nine days widen your prayer beyond your own needs. If you wish to follow the traditional devotion, pray the Chaplet each day using the linked authoritative guide.
